Jepson Announces Promotion of Beck

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA.- Head Coach Randy Jepson promoted Tony Beck from Assistant Coach to Associate Head Coach. Beck will enter his seventh season o staff with the Nittany Lions this winter. 
 
Throughout his time in Happy Valley, Beck has helped lead the Nittany Lions to four individual NCAA titles, 27 All-American awards, two Big Ten team titles and eight Big Ten individual titles. He has also coached one Big Ten Gymnast of the Year and three Elite-90 Award winners in his time.
 
Internationally, he has helped coach World Pommel Horse Champion in 2021, a Pommel Horse World Cup Champion in 2020 and three World Championship Team members. Beck himself was also a four-time World Cup Coach.
 
As a student athlete at Penn State, Beck earned a fourth-place finish on parallel bars at the 2010 Big Ten Championship and a ninth-place finish on the pommel horse in the 2011 NCAA Championships. He also helped lead the team to two, third place finishes in the Big Ten Championships in 2010 and 2012. In 2013, Beck's senior year, he finished sixth on high bar and Penn State finished fourth at the NCAA Championships.
 
Upon graduating from Penn State, the Northampton, Pa. native started the first men's gymnastics program at Centre Elite Gymnastics where he pronounced numerous regional and state champions. He was named Pennsylvania Coach of the Year in 2015. 
 
Associate head coach Beck said "It's truly an incredible honor to be promoted as the Associate Head Coach for the Penn State men's gymnastics program. I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity and will continue to put my heart and soul into this team in pursuit of conference and national titles."
