Swim and Dive Set to Face Ohio State for Road Meet

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State swimming and diving team is set to hit the road on Friday, November 8 for a one-day meet versus Ohio State. The meet will start at 3 p.m. at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus.

The Nittany Lions are coming off a two-day meet versus Pittsburgh where the men’s team won 211-142, while the women’s team fell to the Panthers 105-248. Coming off the weekend, the team was looking forward to their meet versus the Buckeyes.

“We are going to continue down the road we’ve been on and we’re in a great spot on both the men’s and women’s side,” said Penn State swimming and diving head coach Hollie Bonewit-Cron. “We’re going to come to Columbus with a great team that’s going to have a high level of confidence, a good foundation of training, and excitement and enthusiasm in this new era building off the history of this program.”

The men’s team is looking to capture their third win of the season, with sophomore Tylor Kim and juniors Cooper Morley and Eduardo Cisternas leading the team.

Kim has already recorded two individual, and three relay team wins and was named the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week after his performance at Navy. Morley was also awarded Big Ten Swimmer of the Week after totaling five first place finishes over six events versus Pittsburgh. Cisternas hopes to expand on his success last year, competing in the Big Ten and the 2024 Olympics, tallying four first place finishes on the season thus far.

On the women’s side, the team is looking for their second win coming off their loss to Pittsburgh. Key women’s team members include Abby Ekstrom and Morgan Moore.

Coming off a successful freshman season, Ekstrom was named to the Big Ten Players to Watch list and has three second place and one third place finishes this season. Moore is looking to expand on her success early this season thus far, recording three first place wins and a second-place finish.
