UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Head coach Guy Gadowsky and the Penn State hockey team announced that junior Aiden Fink (Calgary, Alberta) will serve as additional alternate captain for the remainder of the 2025-26 season on Wednesday afternoon.

Fink joins seniors Ben Schoen (Maumee, Ohio) and Jarod Crespo (Seven Lakes, N.C.) along with junior classmate Reese Laubach as alternates to team captain Dane Dowiak (Pittsburgh, Pa.) who announced on Tuesday he would miss the remainder of the season with an upper-body injury sustained last Friday in Ann Arbor.

Fink, the fastest Nittany Lion all-time to reach 100 career points, ranks seventh on the Penn State all-time scoring list with 109 points while his 43 goals are tied for ninth all-time.

Fink became Penn State’s first-ever Hobey Baker Award Top-10 Finalist last season when he set the Penn State single-season point record with 53 while tying the goal record with 23. The junior missed seven games in the fall and after returning from injury this semester, has three goals and 10 assists for 13 points in 12 games giving him 22 points (5G, 17A) in 21 games as he ranks fifth on the team in scoring.

Penn State returns to action this weekend with a crucial Big Ten Conference series at Pegula Ice Arena against Ohio State.
