To celebrate the opening of I-99, fans from Blair County can show their drivers license or a valid Blair County zip code at the box office on gameday and purchase tickets for 99 cents. The Nittany Lions are coming off a thrilling 85-83 victory at Georgia Tech in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Wednesday and are led by Talor Battle who ranks second in the Big Ten scoring 19.3 ppg.
Temple is coming off a pair of losses, including a 68-52 defeat vs. Miami of Ohio on Wednesday in Philadelphia. The Owls are led by 6-5 guard Dionte Christmas who averages 21.8 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Penn State will move its Saturday, Dec. 13 match-up with Mt. St. Mary's to a 1:30 p.m. tip in order to not conflict with the NCAA Volleyball Championship Regional Final to be held at Rec Hall at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th.
The Nittany Lion volleyball team enters this weekend's NCAA First and Second Round matches at Rec Hall as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation and riding an NCAA record 58 consecutive sets won. Penn State is 32-0 on the volleyball court this season and has won 97 straight matches. The Big Ten Champions and defending NCAA Champions start their title defense tonight at 6:00 p.m. in Rec Hall vs. Long Island and with a win will advance to a 4:00 p.m. match Saturday vs. the winner of the Yale/Ohio match tonight.
