The women's golf team will take part in the Lady Northern Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The women's golf team will travel to Madison, Wisc. in hopes of improving on their 12th place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational.
`'We are not going to let this first tournament dictate the rest of our season," said head coach Denise St. Pierre. "We have to work hard this week and stay focused during practice. We know we have the players that can make things happen."
Penn State goes in to the tournament with the same starting lineup as the previous week. Senior Katherine Murphy (Portsmouth, R.I.) and juniors Brianna Malcolmson (Murwillumbah, Australia), Giulia Carando (Torino, Italy) and Gia Fanelli (West Palm Beach, Fla.) round out the upperclassmen.The two other spots are filled by freshmen Jamie Lavin (Deerfield, Illinois) and Emily Ransone (Hilliard, Ohio).
The tournament will be held in at the University Ridge Golf Coure. It is a 54-hole tournament, par 72 course covering 6,246 yards. The first two rounds of play will be held on Sunday, September 27 and the third round will take place on Monday, September 28.
