Single-game Basketball Tickets Go On Sale Monday

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA., Oct. 3, 2009 - With the first official day of practice on Oct. 16 and the season-opener just over a month away, Nittany Lion basketball single-game tickets will go on sale to the public on Monday, October 5.

Coming off a school-record 27 wins and first-ever national tournament title in the 2009 NIT, the Nittany Lions look to continue the enthusiasm and momentum that steamrolled through last season as Penn State knocked off four Top 25 ranked teams, set a record with 17 home wins and closed out their home season with five-straight crowds of over 12,000 fans.

On Monday, fans can purchase tickets to any one of 17 Nittany Lion home tilts or PNC Bank Flex Book plans, which include 10 vouchers to any Nittany Lion or Lady Lion games of your choice for just $99.

The Nittany Lions will play a pair of Friday night games prior to home football contests to get the season started, beginning with a 6:00 p.m. exhibition tip vs. Slippery Rock on Nov. 6 the night before the Lion football team takes on Ohio State in Beaver Stadium. That game will be followed by the pre-Ohio State pep rally in the Jordan Center. Penn State will officially tip off the season on Friday, Nov. 13 when they take on Penn in a 7:30 p.m. tip the night before the football team takes on Indiana in Beaver Stadium. That game will feature a halftime performance by fan favorite "Quick Change" and a replica NIT Championship banner give-away.

The Nittany Lions will play seven non-conference games at the Bryce Jordan Center highlighted by a clash with Virginia Tech of the ACC on Sat., Dec. 12. The Lions will also host nine Big Ten home games, including weekend clashes with Wisconsin (Sun., Jan. 3), Minnesota (Sat., Feb. 6), 2009 NCAA runner-up Michigan State (Sat., Feb. 13), Northwestern (Sun., Feb. 28) and Purdue (Sat. or Sun., March 6 or 7).

Single-game tickets for Nittany Lion games are $18 for lower bowl seating, $15 for upper bowl seating and $5 for youth. Penn State also offers special group ticket rates (15 fans or more) of $10 for adults. Single-game tickets can be ordered by calling the ticket office at 814-865-5555, by visiting GoPSUsports.com or through Ticketmaster.

Many fan favorite ticket promotions will return for 2009-10. Penn State will again offer "Subway Full Court Four Pack" deals, which include four tickets, four soft drinks at the game and vouchers for four Subway six-inch subs at State College locations, for weekend games vs. Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan State, Northwestern and Purdue.

"Toys for Tots Night" will be held on Tue., Dec. 8 as the Lions take on UMBC. Adults will receive $5 admission and youth free admission with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy.

"Dollar Dog Nights" will return with first date being Thur., Jan. 21 vs. Indiana. Additional dates will be announced during the season.

Penn State will have a "Throwback Day" o Sat., Feb. 6 when they take on Minnesota. The Nittany Lions will wear throwback jerseys and fans will receive a "Throwback Collector's Cup" as well as the opportunity to bid on owning the players jerseys at the Coaches Vs. Cancer silent auction which will be held at "Coaches vs Cancer Day" on Sat., Feb. 13 vs. Michigan State. A Talor Battle figurine will also be given away at that game.

"Autograph Day" will be Sat., Feb. 28 vs. Northwestern. Fans coming to the game will receive a free panoramic team poster as well as the opportunity to have items signed in a post-game autograph session with the Lions.

More special promotions will be announced as the season nears.

Penn State student season tickets will go on sale on Thursday, October 8 in the HUB-Robeson Center on campus from 10-4 p.m. The Nittany Lions will also host a Blue-White Hoops Fest in the Jordan Center on Sat., Oct. 17 prior to the football team's kickoff vs. Minnesota. The Hoops Fest will include a 20-minute scrimmage, dunk contest, three-point contest and a chance to meet the team and collect autographs. Admission is free with doors opening at 11 a.m. and the scrimmage starting at 11:30 a.m.
