UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., - Former Penn State safety Jon Sandusky has been named Director of Player Personnel with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League .
Sandusky, who played for the Nittany Lions from 1996-99, joins the Browns after nine seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He joins former Penn State standout running back Gary Brown, who is Cleveland's running backs coach.
A native of State College, Sandusky lettered during the 1998 and '99 seasons, helping Penn State to victories in the 1999 Outback and 1999 Alamo Bowls. He played in every game during his last two seasons, recording seven tackles (five solo) in 1999. Known for his determined effort and great attitude, Sandusky was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. He graduated with a 3.79 grade point average in kinesiology.
A two-time all-conference honoree at State College Area High School, Sandusky joined the Eagles in 2001 as an intern in the personnel department. He then spent six years as a pro scout and the last two years served as the Eagles' Director of Pro Personnel.
