UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 11th-ranked Penn State men's volleyball team (13-3, 6-0 EIVA) continues its six-match road trip on Saturday, March 5 at Springfield. Action is set for 5 p.m.

Penn State Preview
The Nittany Lions improved to 13-3 overall and remained undefeated in conference play with a 3-1 victory against Saint Francis and a 3-0 sweep of George Mason. Redshirt junior Joe Sunder led the Nittany Lions with 4.57 kills per set, while sophomore Tom Comfort wasn't far behind with 4.14 kills per set. Redshirt junior Edgardo Goas averaged 10.71 assists per set and had a team-best 2.14 digs per set. Sophomore Ian Hendries was a wall at the net with 1.57 blocks per set and Comfort averaged 1.14 blocks per set to rank second on the squad. For the week, Penn State hit .398 averaging 14.57 kills, 13.14 assists, 0.71 aces, 8.43 digs and 3.14 blocks per set.

Penn State vs. Springfield
PSU is 32-0 all-time against the Pride dating back to 1977. The squads met in February of 1977 with the Nittany Lions winning, 3-0 (15-2, 15-9, 15-11). This will be the second meeting between the teams this season. The Lions and the Pride first met on Jan. 22 at Rec Hall with Penn State coming away with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-18) win.

Scouting the Pride
Springfield is 7-10 overall this season with a 1-4 record in EIVA play. The Pride has won four of its last five matches, including three in a row. Most recently, Springfield has earned wins against NJIT, Princeton and Vassar. Springfield will meet Princeton a second time on March 4 before taking on the Nittany Lions on March 5.

What's Next?
The Nittany Lions head off to California March 9-12. Penn State is scheduled to take on UCLA on March 9, UC Santa Barbara on March 11 and Long Beach on March 12.
