AMANDA ACKERMANN

Club Team: Maryland United Lacrosse Club

Amanda Ackermann is a four-year starter in the midfield for Kent Island High School in Stevensville, Md. A two-time team MVP and team captain, she led the Buccaneers in scoring in 2011 en route to First Team All-North Bayside Conference honors. A two-time honorable mention all-conference performer prior to last season, Ackermann finished second on the team in all stats in 2010. ESPN listed Ackermann at No. 20 in its 2011 national ranking of attacking players and No. 76 overall.

A member of the Maryland United Lacrosse Club, Ackermann contributed to three Presidents Cup championships (2009-11), a WCLA crown in 2010, and a "Top of the Bay" title in 2011.

Amanda Diane Ackermann was born on November 26, 1994 in Annapolis, Md. to parents Joel and Pam...Plans to major in kinesiology...Intended career plans include becoming a "sports trainer at a college and then hopefully be a coach."...Chose to attend Penn State because "It was the perfect distance from home. I absolutely love the spirit and the family-like atmosphere. I love the sports teams and especially the colors. Go Blue and White!"
