UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State men's lacrosse head coach Jeff Tambroni along with alums Greg Gurenlian (2006) and Drew Adams (2009) will help the United States National Team against Canada on Sept. 8 in Commerce City, Colo.
Tabbed the "Duel in Denver," Tamboni will assist head coach Richie Meade. Other collegiate head coaches on the sidelines will be Kevin Cassese of Lehigh and Johns Hopkins' Dave Pietramala. Meade and company selected 25 members for the exhibition against Canada, a rematch of the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship gold-medal game. The United States won that game, 12-10, in Manchester, England. Denver will host the FIL World Championship July 10-19, 2014.
Adams, who plays professionally in the MLL with the Long Island Lizards, is one of two goalies on the team along with Jesse Schwartzman of the Outlaws and a Johns Hopkins graduate of 2007. Gurenlian, also on the Lizards, is one of two faceoff specialists.
The U.S.-Canada game is set for 9:00 p.m. ET at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, home of Major League Lacrosse's Denver Outlaws and Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids.
