Nittany Lions Set to Host Three Summer Camps

Dec. 18, 2013

2013 Freshman/Sophomore Prospect Camp | 2013 Men's Lacrosse Summer Camps

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's lacrosse program will host three summer camps June 29-July 3 on campus in Happy Valley led by two-time CAA Coach of the Year Jeff Tambroni.

Tambroni and company kick off the camp season June 29 for the Freshman/Sophomore Prospect Camp. The one-day competitive camp will focus on skill development and team play concepts for more advanced skill players who are serious about raising their skills in preparation for playing at the collegiate level. Space is limited to the first 88 participants who register.

Two camps will run simultaneously June 30-July 3 as Penn State conducts the Lacrosse Goalie Camp and Lacrosse Instructional Camp for campers ages 8-18.

The goalie camp is designed to provide goalies with the use of specialized drills and individual instruction sessions to enhance skill development in the cage. Solid instruction will focus on strategies to help goalies further refine their skills in game-like situations. Goalies will also participate in all games and several drills during the Penn State Instructional Camp. Instructors in the past have been Penn State alumni and current MLL All-Stars, Long Island Lizard Drew Adams ('09) and Chesapeake Bayhawk Chris Garrity ('03).

The instructional camp will include stick-work practices, games and solid instruction that will focus on offensive and defensive strategies to help players further refine their skills. Individual-help sessions and extra scrimmages under the lights will also be held for campers ages 8-18.

The two overnight camps provide housing on campus in addition to meals camp shirt and instruction. A reduced commuter fee is also available for those who live nearby.
