Six Nittany Lions Earn ESPN.com All-Big Ten Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., December 16, 2014 - Six Penn State football student-athletes have been named to ESPN.com's All-Big Ten teams, including four on the conference's All-Freshman Team.

Senior linebacker Mike Hull (Canonsburg) and junior defensive tackle Anthony Zettel (West Branch, Mich.) were selected to the ESPN.com All-Big Ten team to lead Penn State's contingent. Hull was named the Big Ten Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year and was joined by Zettel on the coaches' and media's first-team.

The Big Ten's leading tackler with 134 stops, Hull also has been selected a second-team All-American by USA Today and Scout.com.

Coach James Franklin's Nittany Lions placed four players on ESPN.com's Freshmen All-Big Ten team, the conference's second-highest total. Safety Marcus Allen (Upper Marlboro, Md.), wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton (Fredericksburg, Va.), tackle Andrew Nelson (Hershey) and punter Daniel Pasquariello (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) made the squad.

All four Nittany Lions also were selected to the 247Sports Big Ten All-Freshman team, as well as the BTN.com All-Freshman team, where they were joined by tight end Mike Gesicki (Manahawkin, N.J.).

Hamilton leads the Big Ten with 75 receptions, No. 3 in Penn State season history, and earned second-team all-conference accolades by the media.

Penn State and Boston College will clash in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 27 in their 24th all-time meeting and the Nittany Lions' 45th bowl appearance. The teams last met in 2004. The New Era Pinstripe Bowl will kick at 4:30 p.m. ET in Yankee Stadium (49,542) and air on ESPN, the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUsports.com.

Penn State students, Nittany Lion Club and Penn State Alumni Association members have requested more than 11,000 tickets for the Pinstripe Bowl, including nearly 1,300 student tickets. Pinstripe Bowl tickets are available via the travel packages for the Official Penn State Bowl Tour, which can be purchased at www.PennStateSportsTours.com. Packages are available both with and without tickets for the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. There will not be any increase in the price of Penn State football season tickets or Nittany Lion Club donation levels for next season.
