UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - After tallying a five-point weekend in the second and third rounds of the NCAA Tournament, sophomore Megan Schafer (Langhorne, Pa.) has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week. This is the first TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week honor for Schafer.
In the Nittany Lions' 6-0 victory over Boston University, Schafer tallied a goal and an assist. Schafer capped off the weekend netting her team-leading 13th goal of the season in a 4-0 win over Ohio State. Over the past 14 matches, Schafer has scored a goal in nine matches and tallied at least one point in 11 matches.
Heading into this weekend, Schafer has scored one goal in three-straight matches.
Schafer and the Nittany Lions host the West Virginia Mountaineers in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday at 4 p.m. at Jeffrey Field. The winner will advance to the 2015 College Cup.
