UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The Penn State football team is heading to Jacksonville, Fla. for the first time in nearly 40 years to clash with Georgia in the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl. Nittany Lion Club members can begin purchasing bowl tickets through Account Manager for the Saturday, January 2, 2016, contest. Kickoff is at noon (ET).
Access to join the Official Penn State Bowl Tour, which includes game tickets, is available to Nittany Lion Club and Penn State Alumni Association members starting Sunday night, in advance of the public sale on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Nittany Lion Club and Alumni Association members can purchase bowl tour packages at: GoPSUsports.com/bowlcentral.
The Nittany Lions and Bulldogs will be meeting for just the second time, with the other meeting coming in Penn State's 1983 Sugar Bowl win (27-23) to capture the program's first National Championship. The Nittany Lions will be participating in their 46th bowl game. Penn State is tied for third nationally with 28 bowl victories and is No. 2 in bowl winning percentage with a 28-15-2 post-season record (64.4).
Nittany Lion Club Members Can Buy TaxSlayer Bowl Tickets and Bowl Tour Packages Starting Sunday Night
As a benefit of membership, Nittany Lion Club members can log onto Account Manager at GoPSUsports.com/bowlcentral to buy tickets for the TaxSlayer Bowl. Nittany Lion Club members can also call 1-800-NITTANY, weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or visit the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. to request bowl tickets.
Nittany Lion Club members have until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8 to request bowl tickets. All NLC ticket requests received by this date and time will be allocated based on NLC point totals. Bowl tickets will be assigned and allocated based on NLC points and availability. If more tickets are requested by NLC members than are available, not all tickets requested may be assigned.
Should any tickets from Penn State's TaxSlayer Bowl allotment remain available after the Nittany Lion Club sale, the public can purchase bowl tickets and bowl tour packages starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at GoPSUsports.com/bowlcentral, 1-800-NITTANY or visiting the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office.
Sale for Student Bowl Ticket Allotment Begins Friday Morning
An allotment of TaxSlayer Bowl tickets is being held for Penn State students to purchase. Student Nittany Lion Club members will have an opportunity to buy TaxSlayer Bowl tickets online only on Friday, Dec. 11 at 7:00 a.m. via Student Account Manager.
The regular student ticket sale for the Taxslayer Bowl will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 via an in-person sale at the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office. More details will be announced later this week.
NLC and Alumni Association Members Can Buy TaxSlayer Bowl Tour Packages Sunday Night
Nittany Lion Club and Penn State Alumni Association members can exclusively join the Official Penn State Bowl Tour prior to public availability for the tour. TaxSlayer Bowl tour packages are available at GoPSUsports.com/bowlcentral. Game tickets are included in the official tour packages from Penn State Athletics and Penn State Alumni Association travel partner PrimeSport.
The official tours include three-day air and land packages starting on Thursday, December 31.
The official air packages include: game tickets, round-trip charter air service from Harrisburg, three-night deluxe hotel accommodations, transfers between the airport and hotel, an exclusive Penn State welcome gathering, round-trip transportation to Penn State's Jan. 1 pep rally and admission to the official Penn State pre-game Tailgate.

Penn State TaxSlayer Bowl tickets that are requested through the tour will be allocated by, in order: 1) Nittany Lion Club points; 2) Penn State Alumni Association membership; 3) public. The ability to request tickets does not guarantee an individual will receive tickets from Penn State's allotment, which will be distributed based on availability. Nittany Lion Club and Alumni Association members will need to provide their member numbers at the time of registration.
Led by Coach James Franklin, the Nittany Lions will face Georgia on Saturday, January 2 at noon in EverBank Field in Jacksonville. The clash will air on ESPN, the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUsports.com.
Penn State has played in Jacksonville four times previously, with Gator Bowl appearances in 1961, 1962, 1967 and 1976. The Nittany Lions were 1-2-1 in the game, having played Georgia Tech, Florida, Florida State and Notre Dame in their post-season contests in Jacksonville.

Penn State season ticket renewals and Nittany Lion Club membership renewals also are underway for the 2016 campaign. The ticket invoice and Nittany Lion Club renewal deadline is Feb. 1, 2015. There will not be any increase in the price of Penn State football season tickets or Nittany Lion Club donation levels for next season.
