- Penn State track & field will hit the road again as they travel to Eugene, Ore. for this year's Pepsi Invitational at historic Hayward Field hosted by the University of Oregon Saturday April 9 with a live broadcast of the event set to begin at 1 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Network.

A scored meet between high-caliber teams at Saturday's Pepsi Invitational can convey to the participating athletes that every point counts.

For fans who make the trek to Hayward Field, the four-team meet will feature several of the top athletes in the nation in their respective events.

In all, the four teams provided 35 scorers at this year's NCAA Indoor championships, and have compiled 47 marks that ranked in the top 25 nationally as of earlier this week.

NCAA EVENT RANKINGS

Penn State boasts several marks that are highly ranked in the nation including three athletes inside the top-five in the NCAA in their respective events including Isaiah Harris' No. 2 1:46.05 in the 800-meters, Brannon Kidder's No. 3 1:46.42 in the same event, and Dannielle Gibson's No. 5 mark in the women's triple jump (42'-8"/13.00) set at the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge in Tempe, Ariz.

In the Big Ten, Penn State has 26 top-10 marks in the conference, with nine of those 26 in the top three and four of those marks leading the Big Ten.

NO. 17 IN THE LAND

The Penn State men's track & field team moved up two spots from their outdoor pre-season debut at No. 19 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Computer Rankings back on March 23.

Penn State wrapped up the 2015 season ranked as the No. 10 team in the nation and recorded the highest finish in school history since they tied for eighth in 1966.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

The Nittany Lions are scheduled to compete in nine meets in five states before they return to Happy Valley for the Jim Thorpe Invite (May 6). Following the Jim Thorpe Invite, Penn state will travel to Lincoln, Neb. (Big Ten Outdoors), Jacksonville, Fla. (NCAA First Round) and Eugene, Ore. (NCAA Outdoor Championships)

NEXT TIME OUT
The Nittany Lion squads will split as they compete at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas on April 16 and the Bucknell Classic in Lewisburg, Pa. on April 16-17.
