Penn State Launches Web Page for Football Themed Game Days and Promotions in Beaver Stadium

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - With the 130th season of Penn State Football rapidly approaching, Intercollegiate Athletics has created a web page for Nittany Nation to view all the themed game days and promotions taking place during the 2016 season.

This Saturday's season opener against Kent State is Youth Football, Cheer and Dance Day, which will include a halftime Spirit Day performance. The 3:30 p.m. contest also features a Scout Celebration that will include Boy Scout and Girl Scout organizations. Special ticket packages for the contest are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY, weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Penn State Football 2016 season primary promotions and game themes:

Kent State, Sept. 3: Youth Football, Cheer and Dance Day; Scout Celebration
Temple, Sept. 17: Stripe Out; Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Coach Paterno's first game as Penn State head coach; THON and Community Heroes Day; Faculty & Staff Day
Minnesota, Oct. 1: Blue Band Jam; All-University Day
Maryland, Oct. 8: Homecoming; Varsity "S" Day; Celebrate Agriculture
Ohio State, Oct. 22: Penn State White Out
Iowa, Nov. 5: Military Appreciation Day; Seats for Service Members
Michigan State, Nov. 26: Senior Day

Additional information on the special events and promotions occurring each game will be distributed to ticket holders on the Thursday prior to every home contest.

Game day parking lots will open this Saturday at 8 a.m. The Nittany Lions, led by Coach James Franklin, will arrive at the intersection of Curtin and Porter Roads at 1:10 p.m. to walk to Beaver Stadium's south tunnel through an aisle of fans and family. Members of the Penn State Blue Band, cheerleaders and the Lionettes will help welcome the team in a pep rally along Curtin Road starting at 12:30 p.m.

The stadium public, student and ADA gates will open at 1:30 p.m. The Beaver Stadium ticket office, located near Gate E, will open at 11:30 a.m. Penn State students from all campuses can buy one or two tickets for $40 each, with a valid ID, at the Bryce Jordan Ticket Center (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) or at the stadium box office on Saturday.

The Penn State Customer Relations Service Center (1-800-NITTANY) will be open on Saturday from 8 a.m. until one hour after the game.

The Penn State-Kent State game will air on BTN and the Penn State Sports Network (2 p.m. airtime), with the network's broadcast also airing on GoPSUsports.com.
