ROSEMONT, Ill. - Junior Frannie Crouse (Greensburg, Pa.) has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. This is the second career honor for Crouse.
Last weekend, Penn State defeated San Diego State, 3-0, and La Salle, 2-0, in the final regular season non-conference contests for the Nittany Lions. Crouse tallied her fifth career two-goal game Friday, Sept. 9, against San Diego State and she recorded her sixth goal of the season Sunday, Sept. 11, against La Salle.
On the year, Crouse has netted 13 points on six goals and one assist. Heading into Big Ten play this weekend, she has scored five goals in the past three games, which includes back-to-back two-goal games against Long Beach State (Sept. 4) and San Diego State (Sept. 9). She currently ranks tied for second in the Big Ten in goals scored.
All-time at Penn State, Crouse ranks 20th in points with 64 (27g, 10a) and she ranks 16th in goals scored with 27.
The Nittany Lions open Big Ten play at Minnesota, Friday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. (EDT) on the Big Ten Network. Following the match against Minnesota, the Nittany Lions take on the Wisconsin Badgers Sunday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. (EDT) in Madison, Wis.
