UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; November 3, 2016ââ'¬" The Penn State women's tennis team will close out its fall season this weekend with two tournaments. Four players will travel to the Big Green Invitational in Hanover, N,H., while four will compete in the Kitty Harrison Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
The four players heading to the Big Green Invitational are Jacqueline Zuhse (Boca Raton, Florida), Bennett Dunn (Orlando, Fla.), Taylor Shukow (Boca Raton, Florida) and Liyin Xu (Chengdu, China). The doubles pairs will be Zuhse/Dunn and Shukow/Xu.
Katia Blik (Moscow, Russia), Devan McCluskey (Phoenix, Ariz.), Samantha Smith (Cary, N.C.) and Shannon Hanley (Kensington, Md.) will compete in the Kitty Harrison Invitational. The doubles pairings will be Blik/McCluskey and Smith/Hanley.
All players will compete in singles matches.
Head Coach Chris Cagle commented on the team's final tournaments of the fall season. "We are excited for our last tournament weekend of the fall. Both the UNC and Dartmouth tournaments have strong fields so it will be a good test for us to close the fall. We have had a number of singles players and doubles teams that have been progressing so Coach Fenwick and I look forward to seeing them in action this weekend. We hope to see Penn State alumni out for our last weekend of tournament competition for the fall."
Both tournaments run from Friday, November 4 till Sunday, November 6.
