February 4, 2017 - UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; The Penn State men's tennis team played the first of four matches this weekend against Cleveland State at the Indoor Tennis Center in Happy Valley. This weekend features back-to-back double headers for the blue and white, with the next contest coming this afternoon immediately following the conclusion of the Cleveland State match.
The Lions won the doubles point early on this afternoon with victories on all three courts. Senior pair Christian Lutschaunig (Richboro, Pa.) and David Kohan (Sydney, Australia) eased past Cleveland State's Colton Buffington and Kevin Goth on court one, coming out with a 6-3 result. Ben Lieb (Newtown Square, Pa.) and Henry Gordon (New Braunfels, Tx.) battled on court two with Nico Mostardi and Andre Mick to come up with a 6-3 win. On court three Christos Antonopoulos (Athens, Greece) and Gabriel Nemeth (Brasilia, Brazil) came up with a 7-5 victory against Benjamin Slade and Mirko Radosevic to close out doubles action.
Singles against Cleveland State were just as successful for the blue and white, winning all six straight. Christian Lakoseljac (King City, Ontario, Canada) won against Nico Mostardi 6-3, 6-3. Christos defeated Colton Buffington 6-1, 6-3. Aws Laaribi (Rye, N.Y.) overcame William Malm 6-1, 6-3. Marc Collado (Barcelona, Spain) conquered Benjamin Slade with a 6-4, 6-1 result. Matt Galush (Cary, N.C.) defeated Mirko Radosevic 6-1, 6-4. Ben Lieb brought home the final point against Cleveland State today against Jack Santilli with a 6-1, 6-2 singles result.
