MTN: Nittany Lions battle on at the ITA All-Americans

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- After a very strong day in Tulsa, Okla., the Penn State men's tennis team concluded main draw play today. The Nittany Lions had two players in action at the ITA All-Americans today.

Constant De La Bassetiere (Reims, France) was the lone Nittany Lion representing Penn State in the main draw. De La Bassetiere began his play against No. 30 Emil Reinberg of Georgia. The Nittany Lion put forth a great effort and battled tough in the second set, but in the end Reinberg defeated De La Bassetiere 6-3, 7-6 (3).

In the opening round of the doubles main draw today, the No. 18 duo of De La Bassetiere and Christian Lakoseljac (King City, Ontario) took on the No. 13 ranked Ohio State doubles duo of Martin Joyce and Mikael Torpegaard. The duo dropped a tough 3-6, 3-6 match.

De La Bassetiere will continue play in the singles consolation round tomorrow. The doubles duo of Lakoseljac and De La Bassetiere will also continue play in the doubles consolation round.

On Monday, Lakoseljac began his tournament play in the qualifying round against No. 88 McClain Kessler of Florida. Lakoseljac had a solid match and defeated Kessler 6-3, 6-4. In the second round of qualifying singles, Lakoseljac took on Jake Van Emburgh of Oklahoma. Despite putting up a strong battle, Lakoseljac was defeated by Emburgh 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-7 (5).
