WLAX Welcomes 7 During Early Signing Period

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Head Coach Missy Doherty and the Penn State women's lacrosse team has announced the addition of seven new faces to the class of 2022 during November's early signing period.

After reaching back-to-back Final Four's in 2016 and 2017 the Nittany Lions will welcome Lauren Craft, Sloane Dowgiallo, Marina Miller, Mary Muldoon, Taylor Suplee, Erin Triandafils and Sydney Wolfington to campus next fall to don the Blue and White.

A three-year All-Section and All-League member at Brewster High School, Craft was named an All-American following a 101 point campaign as a junior in 2017. In three seasons, Craft has led her team in scoring and has a total of 179 goals and 82 assists for 261 points to go along with 227 draw controls from the midfield. Craft is also a three-year member of the US Lacrosse National Tournament team.

Sloane Dowgiallo // M/D // 5-6 // Lothian, Md. // Southern High School // Maryland United

Dowgiallo helped lead Southern High School to its first-ever AA County Championship game appearance as a junior in 2017 and was named a First-Team All-County Coaches Choice and a First-Team All-County Capital Gazette team member. Dowgiallo scored 56 goals in 2017 helping her team to a 14-4 record. She has also been a member of Maryland United Lacrosse for the past seven years.

"Sloane is a gritty midfield/defender who is always there to make a hustle play. She works hard the entire game, and we are pumped she is bringing her work ethic to Happy Valley."

Marina Miller // M // 5-6 // Wexford, Pa. // Pine-Richland High School // Pittsburgh Premier

Miller led Pine-Richland High School to the WPIAL Championship during her junior season and is already the programs all-time leading scorer with 235 goals. The two-year captain is a two-time All-American and a three-time All-Section and All-WPIAL member. Miller ranks No. 39 on Inside Lacrosse for the class of 2018. She is also a three-time member of the US Lacrosse High School National Tournament team for Western Pennsylvania.

Muldoon will join her sister Delaney in the Blue and White next fall after completing her time at the Academy of the Holy Cross where she has been a three-time All-Conference selection and served as a captain as a junior and will once again this upcoming season.

Taylor Suplee // G // 5-10 // Lothian, Md. // Southern High School // Maryland United

Suplee enters her senior season at Southern High School as the No. 17 ranked senior in the class of 2018 by Inside Lacrosse. Last season she posted a 14-4 record with 173 saves and a .640 save percentage while leading Southern High School to its first-ever appearance in the AA County Championship game. She was also named the Anne Arundel County Girls Player of the Year and was a First-Team All-Anne Arundel County member as well as being named to the Baltimore Sun and the Washington Post All-Metro teams. Suplee has participated in the 2015 Under Armour underclass All-American game and is a three-year member of the US Lacrosse National Tournament Team. Suplee has also been a member of Maryland United Lacrosse for the past five years.

Erin Triandafils // M // 5-7 // Wading River, N.Y. // Shoreham-Wading River // Long Island Yellow Jackets

Triandafils will follow in her sister Sophia's footsteps and don the Blue and White next fall. She has been a three-time All-Suffolk County selection at Shoreham-Wading River and will be serving as team captain for the second consecutive season this upcoming spring as a senior. Triandafils also plays lacrosse for the Long Island Yellow Jackets club team and was a member of the 2016 U15 National Championship Team.

TRIANDAFILS ON PENN STATE

"I choose Penn State because it embodies everything I value and while at PSU I will be able to continue growing as a person both in the classroom and on the lacrosse field. The academics are very impressive and even though the campus may be big, you still feel connected to everyone. PSU is so friendly and welcoming that it is like a home away from home."

Sydney Wolfington // A // 5-9 // Newtown Square, Pa. // Agnes Irwin School // Philly Blast

Wolfington enters her senior year at Agnes Irwin High School having helped her team to the PAISAA Championship game each of the last three seasons and hoisting the trophy in 2017 and 2015. Wolfington scored five goals in the PAISAA Championship game in 2017 and enters 2018 the No. 1 rated player in the state of Pennsylvania and the No. 22 overall prospect as ranked by US Lacrosse. She finished her junior season with 61 goals and 19 assists for 80 points in 26 games. During her freshman season Agnes Irwin went 23-1 and were ranked as the No. 1 team in Pennsylvania by Laxpower.com.
