ITHACA, N.Y. - The Penn State women's hockey team (2-7-6) played to a 1-1 tie against the No. 8 Cornell Big Red (5-3-1) in a non-conference contest Tuesday afternoon at Lynah Rink.

After the two teams played to a scoreless opening 20 minutes of action, Kelsey Crow (Minnetonka, Minn.) netted her third power play goal of the season at 11:31 into the second period to put Penn State in front of Cornell, 1-0.

Trailing 1-0 heading into the final minutes of the third period, Cornell's Diana Buckley knotted up the contest with 1:28 to go in regulation sending the game into overtime. Neither team was able to find the go-ahead goal ending the game in a 1-1 tie.

In net, Hannah Ehresmann (Minnetonka, Minn.) tallied a 20-save outing for the Nittany Lions, while Marlene Boissonnault made 21 saves for Cornell.

Penn State closes out the Thanksgiving break with a trip to Storrs, Conn., for the Nutmeg Classic, Nov. 24-25. Penn State will play UConn on Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. before taking on either Quinnipiac/Yale on Nov. 25 at 3 p.m. or 6 p.m.

NOTES: Tuesday's game was the first meeting between the two teams…Penn State outshot Cornell, 22-21…Penn State went for 1-for-5 on the power play, while Cornell went 0-for-5…Tuesday marked the fourth ranked opponent for the Nittany Lions this season…Penn State played its eighth overtime game of the season - the program record for overtime games in a season for PSU is 10 (2015-16).
