Round One Results

GREENSOBORO, Ga. - The Penn State men's golf team played round one of the Linger Longer Invitational at 10-under 278 for third place after the first day of competition on the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Georgia.

Cole Miller (New Tripoli, Pa.) carded nine birdies to post a career-low 7-under 65 to lead the way for the Nittany Lions. The senior sits in a tie for second place individually.

Junior JD Hughes (Carlisle, Pa.) was strong on the day as well firing a 4-under 68. Hughes' first round was good enough to put him in a tie for sixth place individually.

Tied for 12th on the individual leaderboard is junior Charles Huntzinger (Duluth, Ga.), who battled to to 2-under with a 70, shooting 4-under on the back-nine alone.

The Georgia Bulldogs lead the field after the opening round with a 16-under 272. UGA's Davis Thompson is also the individual leader after shooting a 9-under 63 to hold a two-stroke lead.

Round two will take place Monday with the first tee times set at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring for the event is available here.
