30 Nittany Lions Qualify for Track & Field NCAA East Prelims

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State track & field program will have 30 student-athletes representing the Nittany Lions at the NCAA East Prelims May 23-25.

The men's track & field program will have 14 student-athletes and the women's track & field program will have 12 individuals and one relay team represented at the NCAA East Prelims.

The following student-athletes are set to compete next week for the Nittany Lions:

In 2018, eight individuals and one relay team advanced to the NCAA championships, highlighted by Isaiah Harris 800m national title.

Head coach John Gondak said of the Nittany Lions "I am excited for our 30 student-athletes to enter NCAA competition next week. These individuals have been training since September and their hard work has paid off with performances that have advanced them to the NCAA prelims. Our coaching staff has done a great job this year preparing these student-athletes and we are all excited to watch these individuals represent the blue and white down in Jacksonville."

The Nittany Lions begin competition in Jacksonville, Florida on May 23.
