ROSEMONT, Ill. – Michael Daly and Daniel Raisanen have both earned Big Ten accolades, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
After leading the Nittany Lions with three first-place finishes against West Virginia, Michael Daly was named the Big Ten Men's Swimmer of the Week. Daly touched first in the 1000 freestyle (9:13.05), 200 back (1:46.66) and the 500 free (4:32.94). This is Daly's second Big Ten honor of his career, as he was named Freshman of the Week last season.
Daniel Raisanen secured the title of Big Ten Men's Swimming & Diving Freshman of the Week by placing first in both the 200 breast (2:02.31) and the 100 breast (56.45) against West Virginia. He also assisted in the 200 medley relay (1:32.27) third-place team. Raisanen currently has the third-best time in the 200 breast in the Big Ten Conference and leads the conference's freshmen in the same event.
