KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Redshirt senior Kaleigh Riehl added another All-America honor to her resume as she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America second team on Thursday, December 5. Riehl earns the second All-America honor of her storied Penn State career.
During the 2019 season, Riehl and the Nittany Lions won 11-straight games en route to another Big Ten Tournament championships and their seventh appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 in the last nine years.
As a member of the Penn State women's soccer team, Riehl and the Nittany Lions achieved nearly unmatched success. Riehl finished her career as the NCAA Division I all-time leader in minutes played with 8,847 minutes played. Riehl helped lead Penn State to its first national title in 2015. The Nittany Lions won the Big Ten regular season title in 2015 and 2018 and Big Ten Tournament titles in 2015, 2017 and 2019. In 2016, Riehl utilized her redshirt season and started all six matches for the United States U-20 Women's National Team at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
Riehl finished third all-time in Penn State history with 101 starts and appearances as she started every game of her Penn State career. Since Riehl's freshman season in 2015, Penn State won 84 games, three Big Ten regular season titles and three Big Ten Tournament championships and appeared in the NCAA Elite Eight in 2015, 2017 and 2018.
