UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women's basketball team looks to keep its momentum going when the Lady Lions travel to Ohio State for a Sunday afternoon showdown. Tipoff from Columbus, Ohio is slated for 2 p.m.

  • Penn State hits the road for its third away game in the last four contests Sunday afternoon at Ohio State.

  • The Lady Lions would snap their nine-game losing streak to the Buckeyes and earn their first victory over Ohio State since Feb. 9, 2014 when Penn State beat the Buckeyes 74-54 in Columbus.
  • Penn State would earn its second-straight win and first road conference victory.

  • A full-team offensive onslaught led Penn State to its first Big Ten victory of the season Thursday night as the Lady Lions took down visiting Michigan State 86-73 in Happy Valley.
  • Penn State tallied a season-best 22 assists on 31 made field goals in its efficient offensive night, while shooting 49.2 percent (31-for-63) from the field, 46.7 percent (7-for-15) from three-point range, and 94.4 percent (17-for-18) from the free throw line.
  • Senior Siyeh Frazier and junior Kamaria McDaniel both registered 24 points. McDaniel also led Penn State with career-best marks of 11 rebounds and nine assists, finishing just one assist shy of a triple-double. Junior Alisia Smith added 16 points and freshman Shay Hagans rounded out the double-digit scorers with a career-best 12 points.

 
SCOUTING OHIO STATE

  • Ohio State is 9-6 overall and 2-2 in Big Ten action.
  • The Buckeyes are coming off a 78-69 win over #24 Michigan in their most recent game Thursday night. Freshman Madison Greene led OSU with a career-high 23 points in the victory. The Buckeyes shot 64 percent in the second half including over 72 percent in the fourth quarter to secure their third win this season over a ranked team.
  • Ohio State's other Big Ten win this season came in the form of a 66-63 victory at then-#24 Minnesota on Dec. 31. OSU has dropped Big Ten games to Purdue (50-66, Dec. 28) and #17 Maryland (62-72, Jan. 6).
  • Dorka Juhasz leads the Buckeyes in both points and rebounds with respective marks of 12.5 and 7.6. Six other OSU players are averaging 7.0 points per game or better.

 
AGAINST THE BUCKEYES

  • Ohio State has won the last nine matchups dating back to 2014, but Penn State still holds a 36-30 edge in the all-time series.
  • Penn State is 13-13 all-time in road games against the Buckeyes.
  • OSU won both of last season's matchups by five points. The Buckeyes earned a 78-73 victory in Columbus on Feb. 6, 2019 after collecting a 76-71 overtime win on Jan. 17, 2019 in Happy Valley.

  • Junior Kamaria McDaniel is the Big Ten's second-leading scorer and averaging 19.5 points per game. That mark ranks 24th in all of Division I as of Jan. 10. Her 23.5 points per Big Ten game leads the conference.
  • The Inkster, Mich. native has tallied six 20-plus point efforts this season and has scored in double figures in 14 of Penn State's 15 games.
  • She dropped the third 40-point game in program history against Pittsburgh on Dec. 5 and put up a 31-point performance against Minnesota in the Big Ten opener on Dec. 28.
  • McDaniel was just one assist away from recording Penn State's first triple-double of the Big Ten era Thursday night against Michigan State as she tallied team-best marks of 24 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. It marked her first career double-double.
  • McDaniel has transformed into the team's go-to scorer after averaging 9.7 points per game a season ago as a sophomore.

 
FOUR WINS OVER 2019 NCAA TOURNAMENT TEAMS

  • Four of Penn State's seven wins this season have come against 2019 NCAA Tournament teams.
  • The Lady Lions kicked off the season with a 73-67 victory at defending CAA Tournament champ Towson. It marked the first win in the Carolyn Kieger era.
  • Penn State then picked up a 72-59 win against defending Atlantic 10 champion Fordham on Nov. 13. It marked the 950th win in program history.
  • Penn State fought for a gritty 68-55 win over Clemson on Nov. 21. Penn State out-scored the Tigers 28-16 in the final 15 minutes to secure the win.
  • Penn State earned its first Big Ten win of the season against Michigan State on Jan. 9. The Spartans advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a season ago. Penn State out-scored the Spartans 25-16 in the final quarter to pull away for the 86-73 win and collect head coach Carolyn Kieger's first-career Big Ten victory.

 
SIYEH STUFFING THE STAT SHEET

  • Senior Siyeh Frazier has proven she can do it all this season, as the Detroit native is averaging 12.9 points per game in addition to a 6.1 rebounds per contest. Both marks rank second on the team.
  • Frazier also leads the team with 40 steals and ranks third with 42 assists.
  • The guard has notched 10 double-digit scoring games while leading the team in scoring in eight contests.
  • Frazier scored a career-best 24 points in Penn State's most recent game against Michigan State.
