POSTGAME NOTES: Penn State vs. Nebraska

TEAM

  • Penn State is now 8-10 all-time against Nebraska.
  • The Nittany Lions moved to 2-6 at Nebraska.

  • QB Will Levis completed 14-of-31 passes for 219 yards. He set career highs for completions, attempts and yards. His previous highs were 11 completions (vs. Idaho, 8/31/19), 14 attempts and 81 yards (vs. Rutgers, 11/30/19).
  • Levis rushed for 61 yards while tying a career high with 18 carries. He last had 18 carries against Ohio State in 2019.
  • Levis completed three passes of 20 or more yards, including a career-long 74 completion to Pat Freiermuth in the fourth quarter.

Pat Freiermuth

  • TE Pat Freiermuth had a career-high 113 yards on seven receptions. It was Freiermuth's second career 100-yard receiving game.
  • Freiermuth has caught a pass in 29-straight games dating back to the Pitt game (9/8/18), tied for the nation's longest streak among tight ends.
  • Freiermuth's 29-straight games with a catch is a school record for consecutive games with a reception by a tight end.
  • Freiermuth hauled in a career-long 74-yard reception in the fourth quarter to setup a Nittany Lion touchdown.
  • Freiermuth has 1,185 career receiving yards, ranking 25th all-time at Penn State and sixth among tight ends.
  • Freiermuth owns 92 career receptions, sitting 19th all-time at Penn State.

Caziah Holmes

  • RB Caziah Holmes rushed for a career-high 50 yards on four carries.
  • Holmes had a career-long 36-yard run in the second quarter.

Keyvone Lee

  • RB Keyvone Lee scored his first career touchdown on a career-long 31-yard burst in the third quarter.
  • Lee set career highs with 49 yards on eight carries.

Devyn Ford

  • RB Devyn Ford scored on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter, his fifth career touchdown.

Jahan Dotson

  • WR Jahan Dotson caught at least one pass in 24-straight games, dating back to Indiana game (10/20/18).

  • QB Sean Clifford now has 3,745 career passing yards, sitting 12th all-time at Penn State.
  • Clifford now has 268 career completions, holding sole possession of 12th all-time at PSU.

DEFENSE

Team

  • The Nittany Lions held Nebraska to just 95 yards in the second half after surrendering 203 in the first half.
  • The 298 yards allowed marks the second time this season Penn State has held an opponent under 300 yards of offense (211 vs. Indiana).

 Jayson Oweh

  • DE Jayson Oweh recorded nine tackles (six solo) to go along with a team-high 1.5 tackles for loss.
  • It marks Oweh's third consecutive games with a TFL.

Jesse Luketa

  • LB Jesse Luketa notched a career-best nine tackles. His previous high was eight against Ohio State.
  • Luketa recorded a solo tackle for loss in the second quarter, his first career full tackle for loss.

Brandon Smith

  • LB Brandon Smith tallied a career-high six tackles. He had five in two previous games with the last time coming against Maryland.

Keaton Ellis

  • CB Keaton Ellis tied a career high with three tackles. He has three stops in three previous games with the last time coming against Memphis in the 2019 Cotton Bowl.

Jake Pinegar

  • K Jake Pinegar tied his career high with three made field goals, marking the third time in his career he had three makes in a game with the most recent occurring against Wisconsin (11/10/18).
  • Pinegar moved into 13th place on Penn State's career field goals made list with 31, passing Herb Menhardt (29; 1978-80).
  • Pinegar has 43 career field goal attempts, which is 13th on the program's all-time list with Herb Mendhart (1976, 1978-80) and Ray Tarasi (1986-89).
  • Pinegar has converted 118 career extra points made, moving into fifth all-time at Penn State.
  • Pinegar moved into 12th place on Penn State's career scoring list with 211 career points. He passed Ki-Jana Carter (204; 1992-94) and Massimo Manca (206; 1982, 1984-86) for 12th.
  • With 11 points on the day, Pinegar earned his sixth career game with double-digit points. His last came against Indiana in 2019.
  • Pinegar has converted 17 straight extra points.
