UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania – The Penn State women's hockey team gets back to action with its first games of the 2021 calendar year in Pittsburgh against Robert Morris this weekend, January 8-9.
The matchup features the two tops teams in the CHA standings as of January 7.

FROM "A" TO "ZANON"
Freshman forward Kiara Zanon (Fairport, N.Y.) garnered the WHCA National Rookie of the Month award for December after posting six points with two game-winning goals in four December contests. She became the first Nittany Lion to win a Hockey Commissioners Association national award in program history.
Zanon currently leads College Hockey America with nine points (3G, 6A).
RECOGNIZED NATIONALLY
Penn State received ten total votes in the national polls this week, collecting six in the USCHO.com poll and four in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. The Nittany Lions have received votes in each of the last three national polls and are aiming for their first ever top ten ranking.
THE MATCHUP
Robert Morris leads the all-time series against Penn State 4-23-7. The Colonials currently hold a 15-game unbeaten streak (10-0-5) dating back to Feb. 2017 against the Nittany Lions.
Three of Penn State's four wins against RMU have come on the road, with PSU's most recent win being a 3-2 victory February 17, 2017.
