Men’s Golf Returns to Action Sunday at General Hackler Championship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's golf team heads to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for the General Hackler Championship Sunday-Tuesday, March 14-16 at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club. The Nittany Lions are participating in this tournament on the par-72, 7,233-yard course for the second-straight year. Rounds 1 and 2 on Sunday and Monday will begin at 8:45 a.m. ET with groups of three from both the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.
 
Graduate student Alec Bard (New Hartford, New York), senior Lukas Clark (Holland, Pennsylvania), graduate student Ryan Davis (Berkeley Heights, New Jersey), senior Lou Olsakovsky (Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania) and sophomore Patrick Sheehan (Doylestown, Pennsylvania) will represent Penn State in the 16-team field. Eight previous General Hackler team titles have been won by programs in this year's event.
 
In addition to Penn State, host institution Coastal Carolina has invited East Carolina, ETSU, Indiana, Kent State, Liberty, Louisville, Miami (Ohio), NC State, North Carolina, North Florida, Ole Miss, UCF, UNCG and Virginia Tech to the 20th annual tournament.
 
Davis was the top individual finisher for the Nittany Lions in the 2020 edition of the General Hackler Championship with a 1-over 217 total for a tie for 21st.
