UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State's Gabby Blossom is the setter of the week after guiding the Nittany Lions offense to impressive numbers in a pair of 3-0 wins over Rutgers this past weekend. It is the first Big Ten weekly award for the Lions this season.
Blossom averaged 12.2 assists/set while guiding the Penn State offense to a .393 hitting percentage in the two wins over the Scarlet Knights. The junior posted a double-double with 39 assists and 11 digs in the second win. The Lions hit .438 in that match.
Blossom is averaging 10.8 assists/set and 3.1 digs/set while starting 10 matches for Penn State this season. She has seven double-doubles on the year.
Penn State is 7-5 following a three-match winning streak. The Lions will play at Michigan State on Friday and Saturday with both matches starting at 6 p.m.
