ROSEMONT, Ill. – Junior forward Jordan Canniff has been named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after scoring three goals in the Nittany Lions two wins.
Canniff netted the game-winning goal for the Nittany Lions in her two-goal performance against Indiana in Penn State's 3-0 win. Canniff also scored the game-tying goal in the Nittany Lions win over #19 Purdue on Sunday.
Canniff's brace against Indiana was the first multi-goal game of her career. Canniff now has two game-winners this season, including her game-winner against #18 Wisconsin on September 30.
With this weekly award, Canniff becomes the third Nittany Lion this season to earn a Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award. She joins Sam Coffey (Oct. 12) and Payton Linnehan (Aug. 24). Katherine Asman also earned Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week honors on September 14.
With Canniff's performance in the two wins, the Nittany Lions are back in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 rankings this week at No. 24.
Penn State travels to Michigan and Michigan State for its final Big Ten regular season games this week.
