UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men's and women's swimming and diving will host Navy this Saturday to compete in its first meet of the season. They will face off at McCoy Natatorium on Saturday, October 9th at noon. The meet will be livestreamed on B1G+ and live results can be found through the Meet Mobile app.
The Nittany Lion men come into this meet with some key returners that will assist in a successful season for Penn State. The blue and white returns 24 members from the 2020-21 squad and adds eight newcomers. Michael Daly, the reigning Big Ten champion in the 400 IM, recorded the second-best time of his career in the 200 Backstroke and competed at U.S. Olympic Trials. Gabe Castaño competed in the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In his Olympic Games debut, Castaño, representing Mexico, registered a time of 22.32 in the 50 Freestyle to place 30th in the prelims and fifth in his heat.
The Nittany Lion women welcome 32 returning swimmers and nine new Nittany Lions to the team. Among those returning is senior Marie Schobel who placed sixth in the 100 Backstroke at the Big Ten Championships and 22nd in the same event at the NCAA Championships.
The Navy men's team went 4-1 in meets in 2021, while the women's team also earned a 4-1 mark.
PARKING
Parking for all friends and family will be available in the East Parking Deck, which can be accessed off Bigler Road. Parking is $1/hour for anyone without a University issued parking permit.
