Heising and Lobdell Selected CHA Players of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Penn State women's hockey student-athletes Natalie Heising and Lyndie Lobdell both received CHA player of the week honors for their individual play last weekend Nov. 26-27 at D1 in D.C.

Heising was selected the CHA Forward of the Week and Lobdell was named CHA Defender of the Week. It's the third forward of the week honor for Heising this season and the first weekly honor for Lobdell in her career.

Heising tallied four points with three goals in Penn State's two games against ranked opponents at D1 in D.C. In last Friday's 3-2 win over No. 7/6 Minnesota Duluth, Heising scored twice, including the game-tying goal in the third period.

The Wayzata, Minn. native followed up with a power-play goal and an assist in Penn State's 4-2 loss to No. 2 Ohio State last Saturday.

Heising has 11 goals and 21 points in the 2021-22 season, both being team highs for Penn State and tying the CHA league.

Lobdell scored in a big moment for the Nittany Lions last Friday with the game-winning goal on a third-period power play to down the Bulldogs. The goal was Lobdell's first of the season and second of her career.

The Aurora, Ill. native's score gave Penn State its first win over a ranked opponent since 2018 when the Nittany Lions downs No. 5 Colgate 4-2 on the road.

The Nittany Lions return to the ice with a Dec. 9-10 series at New Hampshire to conclude its 2021 half of the season.
