UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --
Penn State men's lacrosse is back at Panzer Stadium on Wednesday for a non-conference matchup with Vermont. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m., and will stream on B1G+.

The Nittany Lions are 1-1 with a 20-15 win over Lafayette and a 13-12 loss to Villanova. The Catamounts enter at 0-2.

SERIES HISTORY
• Penn State leads 4-0 in the all-time series, but the teams have not played since 2015.
• The teams first played in 1992.
• A 15-8 win over Vermont at Holuba Hall in 2015 is the lone game between the teams during head coach Jeff Tambroni's time with the team. That game was the first career start for goalie Conner Darcey. He made 15 saves in the win.

Vermont is 0-2 with a 15-7 loss to then-No. 3 Duke and an 11-10 loss to Utah.
• The Catamounts are the defending champion in the America East and qualified for the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
• Junior Tommy Burke is 31-50 (62 percent) on faceoffs this season and was recently named the America East Defensive Player of the Week. He was a USILA All-America honorable mention and a first-team All-America East selection last season.
• Vermont was picked first in the 2022 America East Preseason Poll. The Catamounts returned their top nine scorers from last season.

TRAYNOR OFF TO HOT START
•  Senior Jack Traynor is off to a hot start this season, averaging 5.0 points and 4.0 goals per game.
• Traynor put up identical stat lines in the first two games, totaling four goals and one assist in each contest.
• He ranks sixth in the Big Ten in points per game and fourth in goals per game.

FIRST-TIME GOAL SCORERS
•  Through two games, Penn State has had 11 different goal scorers. Five of those are first-time goal scorers.
•  Nils Barry, Will Peden and Kyle Aldridge all scored their first career goals in the season opener against Lafayette.
•  Jeb Brenfleck and Hudson Bohn scored their first career goals in the game against Villanova.
