Penn State Softball Picked for Three TV Broadcasts

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State softball team will appear on TV for three broadcasts this season.
 
The Big Ten Conference announced on Monday that the Nittany Lions' doubleheader in Columbus against Ohio State on Tuesday, April 5 will be televised on the Big Ten Network. The first game of that doubleheader is slated to start at 3:00 p.m. with the second game scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
 
All home contests at Nittany Lion Softball Park and Beard Field and all Big Ten matchups will be broadcast on the subscription based B1G+.
 
Penn State will also appear on the ACC Network when the Nittany Lions travel to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, March 16. That game is slated to start at 5:00 p.m. The Nittany Lions last played Pitt at the Northern Lights Southern Classic on February 13, where senior pitcher Bailey Parshall registered her first shutout of the season and Penn State won 1-0.
 
Clarisa Crowell's Nittany Lions are 8-5 to start the 2022 season. Last time out, the Nittany Lions swept Kennesaw State in a doubleheader as a part of the I-75 Challenge, winning the games 5-2 and 10-2 (5). Freshman pitcher Lydia Spalding picked up her first win in a Penn State uniform in the second game.
 
Penn State heads down south again this weekend to take part in the Carolina Classic. The first game of the weekend will be against Oregon, with first pitch from Chapel Hill, N.C. scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, March 4.
