UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey team (8-1, 3-0 B1G), ranked No. 6 in the latest NFHCA Coaches Poll, hits the road for two Big Ten games this coming weekend. The Nittany Lions are at No. 2 Northwestern (9-1, 0-1 B1G) on Friday, Sept. 30, at 4 p.m. and at Indiana (7-4, 0-1 B1G) on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m.
Penn State is coming off two shutout victories at home last weekend. The Nittany Lions beat Michigan State 4-0 on Friday night behind three points from Mackenzie Allessie (goal, assist) and three saves from Brie Barraco. Two days later, Allessie scored the game winner in a 2-0 victory over No. 23 Ohio State.
Sophia Gladieux and Allessie lead Penn State's offense. Gladieux has 21 points off nine goals and three assists while Allessie checks in with 18 off six and six. Anna Simon has eight off two and four while Jemma Punch has seven off three and one. Barraco now has three straight shutouts to go along with 31 saves and a .756 save percentage.
Northwestern enters the weekend with a 9-1 mark, 0-1 in the Big Ten. The Wildcats dropped a tough 2-0 game to Iowa on Friday night in their Big Ten opener. Bente Baekers leads NU with 36 points off 15 goals and six assists. The Nittany Lions lead the all-time series 34-61, including a 2-1 overtime victory in State College last year.
Indiana, which hosts Rutgers Friday night while Penn State is at Northwestern, enters the weekend with a 7-4 mark, 0-1 in the conference. The Hoosiers are coming off a non-conference win over Miami (Ohio) in their last outing. Jemima Cookson leads IU with 13 points off six goals and one assist. Penn State leads the all-time series 26-4, including a 4-1 win last year in Happy Valley.
Penn State hosts Iowa the in its next action, welcoming the Hawkeyes to the FH Complex on Friday, Oct. 7, for a 6 p.m. game. The Nittany Lions then host Lafayette for a non-conference game on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 1:30 p.m. Iowa will remain in State College and face James Madison at 11 a.m. on the Nittany Lion field prior to the Penn State/Lafayette game on Sunday.

NITTANY LIONS DOWN #23 OHIO STATE 2-0
Penn State took down No. 23 Ohio State 2-0 on Sept. 25 behind Mackenzie Allessie's game-winning goal late in the third and a third straight shutout for goalie Brie Barraco. Jemma Punch added an open net goal late in the game for the final tally.
LIONS SHUTOUT MICHIGAN STATE 4-0
Mackenzie Allessie had a goal and an assist and Brie Barraco came up with three big saves to lead Penn State to a 4-0 shutout win over visiting Michigan State on Sept. 23. Allessie's three points led a balanced Lion offense and Barraco notched her second straight shutout.
BARRACO NOTCHES 10 SAVES TO LEAD LIONS TO 2-1 WIN AT #7 MICHIGAN; NAMED B1G DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior goalie Brie Barraco recorded 10 saves, including seven in a furious third period, to lead Penn State to a 2-1 victory at No. 7 Michigan on Sept. 16. Barraco's performance, and a goal and an assist from Sophia Gladieux, helped Penn State overcome a 23-3 deficit in shots during the game. Barraco was named B1G Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts.
ALLESSIE SCORES TWICE, LIONS SHUTOUT CORNELL 3-0
Mackenzie Allessie scored twice and Brie Barraco notched her first shutout of the season as the Penn State Nittany Lions beat Cornell 3-0 in Ann Arbor, a neutral site game played at Michigan. The win came less than 24 hours after Penn State beat Michigan 2-1.
ALLESSIE NOTCHES TWO GOALS TO LEAD PENN STATE TO 4-2 WIN AT NO. 24 DELAWARE
Mackenzie Allessie scored on two penalty strokes to lead Penn State to a 4-2 victory at No. 24 Delaware on Sept. 11. Allessie's goals helped Penn State close out a weekend road sweep of ranked foes (the Lions won at St. Joseph's on Friday, Sept. 9).
LIONS TAKE DOWN NO. 12 ST. JOSEPH'S
Penn State used fourth period goal from Grace Wallis to grab an important 2-1 win over No. 12 St. Joseph's on the road. The host team scored early in the game but Penn State's defense held firm after that. Carly Gannon tied the game with a first half goal, setting up Wallis' game-winner in the fourth.
GLADIEUX NETS SEVEN POINTS IN 6-2 WIN AT UALBANY
Junior Sophia Gladieux netted seven points in Penn State's 6-2 road win at UAlbany on Saturday, Sept. 3. Gladieux scored three goals off Penn State's penalty corner offense and added an assist to lead the Lions.
LIONS DROP 2-1 GAME TO NO. 9 LOUISVILLE ON LATE PENALTY STROKE
No. 9 Louisville used a penalty stroke in the final 5:00 to break a tie game and post a 2-1 win over the Nittany Lions at the FH Complex on Aug. 28. Sophia Gladieux had Penn State's lone goal in the game.
GLADIEUX SCORES IN FINAL SECONDS TO LIFT PENN STATE OVER NO. 12 VIRGINIA
Junior Sophia Gladieux scored on a fast break with just :32 left in the game to lift Penn State to a 3-2 win over No. 12 Virginia at the FH Complex in the season opener for both teams on Aug. 26. Gladieux's goal capped off a thrilling Lion win that also saw Meghan Reese and Jemma Punch find the back of the cage.

PARKING PAYMENT INFORMATION
- No charge with a valid Penn State parking permit
- Prepaid parking available through https://psu.parkmobile.io/field-hockey-complex
- $5.50 through day before event, $10 day of event
- $40 season parking packages available through Thursday, Aug. 25
- Day-of-event payment also available using in-lot pay stations or the ParkMobile app (zone no. 95112)
- Fans who prepay for Stadium West or Jordan East parking through ParkMobile may also park at the Yellow H lots near the
- Shields and Wagner buildings except when they are posted as reserved for Bryce Jordan Center or Pegula Ice Arena event parking.
- On days when Field Hockey overlaps with a Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball or Men's Hockey game, ParkMobile prepayment and zone parking and pay station parking for Field Hockey will end two hours before those events, and cash only payment ($10) will be collected at the lots by attendants for those without a valid permit or prepayment. When Field Hockey games overlap with a Bryce Jordan Center concert/show, day-of-event payment may be as high as $30 for those without a permit or prepayment.

- Note: If a different vehicle must be driven than the one registered at purchase, users must contact ParkMobile Member Support through the ParkMobile website or app (Settings â€" Chat Support) to request a vehicle change for that reservation.
- Purchase parking for the event
- Note: Guests must present their ParkMobile QR code to event parking staff on their mobile device, if requested. Printed permits from the ParkMobile website will also be accepted.
IMPORTANT PARKING REMINDERS
- All vehicles must be parked with the license plate facing the drive aisle located closest to the parking space so that payment can be verified by parking enforcement staff.
- A valid permit or payment is required in event parking areas 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Vehicles parked without a valid permit or payment may be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.
