UNIVERSITY PARK, P.a.- Three Penn State men's soccer players are drafted in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. Jalen Watson, Liam Butts and Andrew Privett were selected by three different clubs. This is the fourth consecutive year Penn State is represented in the draft.
Jalen Watson was selected 32nd overall in the second round by Toronto FC. The Canada native had played four years on the Penn State defense.
Liam Butts is drafted 33rd overall in the second round by the San Jose Earthquakes. Butts has 22 goals and 50 points in his four seasons. He earned second team All-Big Ten and CoSIDA Academic All-District this season.
Andrew Privett is chosen 69th overall in the third round by Charlotte FC. At the end of four years as a Nittany Lions he has 14 goals and 41 points. He was selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District this season along with Butts.
