WINTHROP, Mass. - The 10th-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions women's ice hockey team picked up three College Hockey America weekly awards on Monday. Courtney Correia, Tessa Janecke, and Josie Bothun each received a weekly award nod.
Correia was named Forward of the Week for the second time this season. During her play against RIT, she tallied four assists including three in game one of the series on Feb. 17. Correia currently sits third on the team in points with 31 off 11 goals and 20 assists.
Janecke was named Rookie of the Week for the seventh time this season. She tallied one goal and three assists as well as 18 faceoff wins in the circle. The Orangeville, Ill. native currently stands at 19 goals and 21 assists for 40 points.
Bothun secured her seventh Goaltender of the Week nod. She picked up a pair of wins at RIT as she recorded a GAA of 1.00 stopping 28 shots and tallied a save percentage of .933. On the year, Bothun has a GAA of 1.87 and save percentage of .920.
The Nittany Lions return to action on Friday, Feb. 24 when they host Lindenwood for the CHA Semifinals at 2:30 p.m.
