UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The fifth-ranked Penn State men's lacrosse team travels to Levittown, N.Y. to take on Marquette in a neutral site matchup on Saturday, March 18 at noon.

HISTORY

  • This is the first matchup in program history between both teams.

SCOUTING MARQUETTE

  • Marquette enters the match with a 3-3 overall record as they were recently defeated by Bellarmine 11-10 on March 11.
  • Leading the way on the offensive front for the Golden Eagles is Jack Stegman who leads the team in points with 22 off 10 goals and 12 assists.
  • In net stands Michael Allieri who has played and started in all six games this season. He currently tallies a save percentage of .491 and GAA of 10.89.

COMING HOME

  • There are a total of eight Nittany Lions who are returning home to Long Island in Saturday's matchup against Marquette in Levittown, N.Y..
  • Michael Faraone, Chris Jordan, Kevin Winkoff, Tyler Kuprianchik, Gerald Filardi, Jr., Trey Berry, Robert McGee and Ryan Huff all were born and raised on the island.
  • Chris Jordan was raised in the nearest town of Garden City, N.Y. which is about 20 minutes away from Levittown.

JACK TRAYNOR WELL BALANCED

  • Graduate student Jack Traynor has 10 goals and 10 assists on the year for 20 points.
  • In Saturday's 10-6 victory over Cornell, Traynor recorded two goals and a pair of assists for four points.
  • This season the Downington, Pa. native has tallied multiple points in each game this season including four multi-goal games in six games played.

FRACYON THE TOP PLAYER

  • Sophomore goaltender Jack Fracyon was named by USA Lacrosse Magazine as their Player of the Week as announced on Tuesday.
  • Fracyon recorded 16 saves and allowed a single-game low of just six goals to third-ranked Cornell on Saturday which aided in the Nittany Lions 10-6 victory.
  • This is Fracyon's first USA Lacrosse Magazine weekly award honor in his career.
  • On the year, Fracyon has tallied a record of 5-1 with a GAA of 10.26 and save percentage of .568.

WEEK 6 RECAP

  • Penn State defeated third-ranked Cornell 10-6 on Saturday, March 11.
  • The Traynor brothers led the way as Jack Traynor tallied four points off two goals and two assists while brother Matt tallied a hat-trick with three goals on the day.

BACK IN THE TOP 5

  • For the first time since the 2021 season, Penn State was nationally ranked in the top five in Monday's Inside Lacrosse and USILA poll.
  • The Nittany Lions were slotted fifth in the nation in both polls.
