No. 60 Men’s Tennis Downed by No. 28 Cornell, 6-1

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's tennis team (13-4) dropped a 6-1 match to the Cornell Big Red (12-2) in the Penn State Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.  

DOUBLES 

Cornell won courts one and two to secure the doubles point. 

Malik Bhatnagar and Charl Morgan fell to Adit Sinha and Nathan Mao 6-2 before Sam Bossem and Loren Byers lost 7-5 to Vladislav Melnic and Radu Papoe. 

Miko Eala and Stefan Simeunovic went 6-6, unfinished across from Samuel Paquette and Petar Teodorovic. 

SINGLES 

The Big Red took five courts to secure their victory.  

Cornell took a quick 2-0 lead as No. 81 Papoe defeated Charl Morgan in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 on court one. Byers earned Penn State's first point of the day on No. 3 in a 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 comeback on No. 3. Eala fell to Melnic 6-3, 7-6(3), before the Big Red clinched the match as Bossem lost 7-5, 7-6(5).  

Cornell earned victories on courts five and six to grab the 6-1 win.
