EVANSTON, Ill. – The Penn State men's tennis team (13-6, 0-2 B1G) fell to the Northwestern Wildcats (11-7, 1-1 B1G) in a 4-0 match in the Combe Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
DOUBLES
The Wildcats earned victories on courts one and three to clinch the doubles point.
Miko Eala and Stefan Simuenovic fell to Trice Pickens/Natan Spear 6-3 before Sam Bossem and Loren Byers earned the equalizer on court two in a 6-2 contest over Ivan Yatsuk and Gleb Blekher.
Northwestern grabbed the point on No. 1 as Malik Bhatnagar and Charl Morgan were defeated 6-2 by Simen Bratholm and Steven Forman.
SINGLES
Northwestern took courts one, two, and four to secure the match.
Morgan fell to #54 Steven Forman 6-2, 6-1 before Trice Pickens defeated Bossem 6-2, 6-3 on court four to finish second. The Wildcats completed the sweep in a 6-4, 7-6 decision in which Byers lost to Yatsuk.
Eala, Simeunovic, and Nemani went unfinished on courts three, five, and six.
