No. 73 Men’s Tennis Falls Just Short of Comebaack to No. 53 Wisconsin

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's tennis team (13-6, 0-3 B1G) dropped a hard-fought 5-2 match against the Wisconsin Badgers (9-6, 2-1 B1G) in the Penn State Indoor Tennis Center on Friday night.  

DOUBLES 

Wisconsin struck first as Malik Bhatnagar and Charl Morgan fell to Robin Parts and Sebastian Vile 6-4. Miko Eala and Stefan Simeunovic earned the equalizer on court three over Jared Pratt and Mihalo Popovic in a 7-5 decision.  

In a hard-fought match on court ine, Loren Byers and Sam Bossem fell just short to the No. 42-ranked doubles pairing in Michael Minasyan and Gabriel Huber 7-6(3).  

SINGLES 

The Badgers took courts one and four and went up 3-0. Pushing for the comeback, Byers defeated Hildebrandt 4-6, 6-1, 6-0. Eala followed up with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 comeback on No. 3 for a 3-2 match.  

Wisconsin ended up clinching on court five as Simeunovic fell to Gabriel Huber in three sets. Pranav Nemani came up just shy on No. 6 in a 7-5, 6-7(3), [11-9] contest.
