2023 Big Ten Championships Day 1 Results
GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. – The Penn State men's golf team completed the opening round of the 2023 Big Ten Championship at the Galloway National Golf Club Friday.
The Nittany Lions sit tied for ninth in the 14-team championship field after shooting a 30-over, 314, in Friday's first round. No. 3 Illinois sits atop the leaderboard and has a six-stroke lead on the team field heading into Saturday's second round.
Junior James Allen led the Nittany Lions in the opening round, carding a 6-over, 77, to sit tied for 22nd.
Senior Patrick Sheehan, sophomore Jake Griffin and freshman Billy Pabst Jr. are all tied for 39th after shooting an 8-over, 79.
Senior Jimmy Meyers sits in 55th place after an 11-over, 82, Friday.
Big Ten Championship action continues Saturday with the second of three rounds. Tee times begin at 9 a.m. and live scoring will be available via GolfStat.
