COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Sophomore Josh Karnes is named to the rosters for the 2023 Senior Pan American Championships in Colombia and the 2023 World University Games in China. The selections were made from National Team Camp this weekend in Colorado.
Junior captain Matt Cormier just missed the World University Games roster but will be the second replacement. He scored a 14.100 on vault.
The NCAA Championship bronze medalist and Senior National Team Member, Karnes earned a 14.500 on parallel bars, one of the highest marks of the competition. He also earned a 13.750 on floor.
"It was a very solid performance for Josh Karnes and Matt Cormier this weekend with both going six-for-six for Team USA," said head coach Randy Jepson. "Karnes was particularly impressive making both the Pan Am and World University Games teams. It's great to see our Nittany Lions continuing to be a force on the U.S. National Team."
The 2023 Senior Pan American Championships will be held May 26-28 in Medellin, Colombia, while artistic gymnastics competition is set for August 1-5 at the 2023 World University Games in Chengdu, China.
