HAMILTON, N.Y.- The No. 11/11 Penn State women's ice hockey team fell to No. 3/3 Colgate 6-2 on Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colgate opened the scoring 7:16 into the first period off a goal by Kristýna Kaltounková to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead.
- 9:20 into the first frame, Danielle Serdachny scored Colgate's second goal of the game to increase the Raiders lead to 2-0.
- Lyndie Lobdell countered with her first goal of the season off a feed by Brianna Brooks to narrow the Raider lead to 2-1 after one period.
- Colgate scored the lone goal of the second period coming off the stick of Neena Brick 4:31 into the frame to give the Raiders a 3-1 lead.
- The Raiders opened the scoring in the third period off a goal by Kaltounková 1:41 into the period to give Colgate a 4-1 lead.
- Less than three minutes later, Penn State would answer off a goal by Karley Garcia for her first goal of the season to narrow the Colgate lead to 4-2.
- Colgate added two more goals coming 8:20 and 16:03 into the period off the sticks of Kaltounková and Dara Greig to give the Raiders the 6-2 victory.
GOALTENDERS
- Senior goalie Josie Bothun recorded 35 saves and allowed six goals to move her record to 1-3-1 on the year.
STATS AND NOTES
- Colgate now leads the series 5-4.
- Two defenseman scored Penn State's goals.
