Retrum Named HCA National Rookie of the Month

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's ice hockey freshman forward Stella Retrum was named the Hockey Commissioner's Association (HCA) women's hockey National Rookie of the Month for November as announced on Friday afternoon. This is Retrum's first national player of the month honor.

Retrum becomes the fourth Nittany Lion in program history to earn a national player of the month honor. Sophomore Tessa Janecke captured the honor last season as she was named National Rookie of the Month in December 2022.

The Maple Grove, Minn. native earned her first CHA Rookie of the Month honor on Tuesday after an impressive 11 point showing in the month of November. She tallied five goals and six assists in six games played and recorded a multi-point game in four of the six games. Three of the goals she scored came on Nov. 25 at Dartmouth when she recorded her first career hat-trick.

On the season, Retrum sits second on the team in points with 13 off six goals and seven assists.
