Baseball Game At West Virginia Selected For ESPN2 Broadcast

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State baseball, led by head coach Mike Gambino, will be featured on a national broadcast on Wednesday, May 8 for its midweek contest at West Virginia. The game, which will now be a 7 p.m. first pitch at Wagener Field at Monongalia County Ballpark, will be broadcast on ESPN2.
 
The Nittany Lions and Mountaineers split the season series in 2023. Penn State earned an 11-6 win on April 6 in Happy Valley but fell 14-2 in Morgantown.
 
West Virginia went 40-20 in 2023, ranking as high as No. 6 in the D1Baseball Poll, and played in the NCAA Regional in Lexington.
 
Penn State opens the 2024 season on Friday, February 16 against Monmouth in Cary, N.C. The Nittany Lions continue their opening weekend, playing Army (noon) and Monmouth (4 p.m.), on Saturday and concluding with Army (1:30 p.m.) on Sunday.
 
The Nittany Lions return 21 members from the 2023 team. The Nittany Lions welcome 20 newcomers, including 10 transfers and 10 freshmen.
