UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.  – Penn State field hockey player Sophia Gladieux has been added to the United State's Women's National Team's Paris Centralized Training Squad. Gladieux was one of for new players added to the training team by USWNT head coach David Passmore.

Based on individual performances during the NCAA season and the FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup, Gladieux, Charlotte de Vries, Caroline Ramsey and Lauren Wadas were added to the training squad, increasing the number of athletes on the roster from 24 to 28.

Gladieux is a four-time All-American, four-time All-Big Ten honoree, two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, one-time Big Ten Player of the Year and the reigning (2022-23) Penn State Female Athlete of the Year. She has 158 career points off 74 goals and 10 assists.

With full-time training getting underway this Spring, the final U.S. Women's Olympic Field Hockey Team roster to represent the nation at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be selected from the pool of centralized athletes and will be announced in mid-June. The team will consist of 16 athletes, plus three provisional (traveling reserve) players.
