Fencing Freshmen Finish in Top 70 at Junior Olympics

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men's and women's fencing teams sent one freshman fencer from each team to compete at the 2024 Junior Olympics in Charlotte, N.C. from Feb. 16-19 at the Charlotte Convention Center. 
 
Eden De La Cruz finished in 68th place in women's foil out of 248 fencers. 
 
In men's foil, Spencer Burke tied with Jonathan Dai of V Fencing Club for 37th place out of 348.

Next, the Nittany Lion fencing teams will travel to Temple on Sunday, Fe. 25 to take on St. John's, Princeton, Penn, Johns Hopkins and Stevens Institute of Technology.
